Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our team on a flexible basis. In this role, you will support the kitchen team in preparing and serving meals to our clients in care homes, hospitals, and other healthcare settings. Your contribution will help ensure that clients receive nutritious, well-prepared meals that meet their dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation and cooking of meals according to menu plans and dietary requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following health and safety regulations.
• Help with the serving of meals to clients, ensuring portions and presentation meet the required standards.
• Assist in washing up, cleaning kitchen utensils, and ensuring all kitchen equipment is properly maintained.
• Monitor food supplies and report any shortages or requirements to the kitchen supervisor.
• Adhere to food hygiene and safety standards at all times.
• Work collaboratively with the care and kitchen teams to provide excellent service to our clients.

Job Requirements:

• Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is preferred but not essential. Training will be provided.
• Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Team Player: Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for cleanliness, safety, and food presentation.
• Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and committed to delivering high-quality service.
• Health & Safety Knowledge: Basic understanding of food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
